As the year draws to a close I'm sitting in my living room hungrily devouring posts on social media about various bests of in travel for 2013. It's noon, and any moment now the Salvation Army pickup truck will pull up outside, and I'll stop writing to go help load it up.
I've been sitting here since 9am anxiously peering outside with every rumble and clatter of machinery outside my window. The time frame they gave was between 10am and 2 pm and I should have know they would be arriving at the back end of the slot.
Not that my time had been wasted by any means though. It's been an incredibly informative and eye opening experience to read so many beautiful posts about what people did this past year and plan to do the next. There are so many inspiring words, pictures and videos streaming into various social media platforms at a pace that would be inhuman to keep up with.
It's truly amazing to see how much information we are all able to share with one another at a blink of the eye from every corner of the globe, many of the people I follow are currently on their own rtw trips, and it's so neat to be able to keep tabs on how everyone is doing.
I'm so looking forward to spending 2014 contributing to the vast amount of information out there, hopefully adding my own twist to the stories and tales that are already being told. It's intimidating at times to join such a strong vibrant community, but inspiring to see how many of us there are. I look forward to sharing this next year with all of you, and can't wait to see where our travels take us.
Happy New Years.
