There are a lot of places in our day to day lives where many of us feel that we can be better. Whether it's a workout schedule, a morning routine that gets you ready for the day or a nighttime ritual to help you get to sleep, having a self discipline routine is the way to ensure success. But, if you're anything like me, the word discipline immediately makes me put on a frowny face. So when I recently heard the word Blissipline, I fell in love.
But I'm distracting myself as usual, back to Blissiplines. So you have these routines that you want to do daily.
My daily Blissiplines usually look something like this :
-Wake up and drink a big glass of water
-Do something to get my body moving (yoga, push-ups whatever) I like Sworkit for an easy inspiration of what to do. They have a free app as well.
-Drink another big glass of water
-Read intentions from the night before and think about my day. I usually read a quote and also read a daily thought from an app called Transform.
-Take an hour and a half nap (I sleep less (5-6 hours) at night and make up for it here)
-Check my daily intentions list and see how it's going
-Shut off screens at least an hour before bed
-No eating the last hour or two before bed
-No drinking the last two hours before bed
-Stretch slowly in bed
-Journal and set intentions for next day
-Keep lights dim the last hour
Throughout the day I keep track of calorie intake and water intake as well as my daily budget with a couple of different applications. One is called Lumen which is a sort of daily planner and organizer. It's where I keep all of my daily reminders and to-dos as well as budget info. The other is called My Fitness Pal it's where I keep track of exercise and calories.
My routines are fairly simple, I don't have a lot going on in my life outside of travel right now. And let me be honest, I don't keep these everyday, for instance last week I was visiting a friends’ family and it all went out the window, but I had planned for that. I knew that my life would be tipsy-turvy while going to celebrate a birthday and didn't bother worrying myself as we celebrated into the night.
Balance is about everything, from knowing the best things to do to care for yourself and knowing when to not beat yourself up for not being able to keep it every moment of everyday. Remember that you are doing this for you, to make your life more filled with bliss and it will easily become a habit in your life.
